The San Diego Zoo Elephant Odyssey is one of our favorite projects. Nielsen Construction California provided all of the structural concrete, steel, and exhibit spaces.

The elephant enclosure features soft dirt flooring, a water feature with a fountain, and a tower. The enclosure is decorated with rocks, places along the water feature, and large wood logs to give the elephants a more natural environment. Pathways along the enclosure allow patrons to get a close glimpse of the elephants.

Railings along the enclosure and the Elephant Odyssey experience are made with a light-colored wood and steel. The curvature of the railings brings flow into the enclosure as park-goers explore the area. Various animal statuettes scattered around the area further add to the experience and provide a sense of wonder and aesthetic interest to the Elephant Odyssey.
