NCC delivered the construction of Padilla-Pace Middle School, a new campus designed to support student growth and provide a modern, functional learning environment for the Brawley Elementary School District. The project included three classroom buildings, a student services building, and a multi-purpose facility, constructed using a combination of concrete, masonry, and wood framing systems. Extensive site improvements were also completed, including new roadways, parking areas, underground utilities, and athletic courts, creating a fully integrated and accessible campus. Delivered through a Lease-Leaseback (LLB) model, Nielsen provided preconstruction and construction services, ensuring a coordinated approach from planning through completion. The result is a cohesive, high-quality educational facility designed to serve the district and its community.




Nielsen Construction California delivered the seismic retrofit and modernization of the College of the Desert Science Building, enhancing structural integrity while upgrading key building systems and learning environments. The project included structural improvements to building footings and posts, along with extensive demolition, hazardous materials abatement, and replacement of outdated utilities. Interior upgrades featured new walls, doors, finishes, and built-in cabinetry, while exterior improvements included new doors and windows to improve performance and functionality. Construction was carefully coordinated to ensure safety and efficiency while working within an existing campus environment. The result is a modernized science facility that supports student learning while meeting current safety and building standards.





The Imperial Valley College Science Building is a landmark project, representing the campus’s first LEED-certified facility and one of the largest LEED projects completed in Southern California. The building proudly achieved LEED Silver Certification, reflecting its commitment to sustainability and high-performance design. The facility features state-of-the-art laboratories supporting a wide range of disciplines, including organic and inorganic chemistry, biological sciences, geological sciences, and physical engineering. Each lab is equipped with dedicated technical preparation spaces to enhance functionality and instructional support. In addition to advanced lab environments, the building includes a planetarium, multiple classrooms, a lecture hall, and administrative offices for the Dean. Together, these spaces create a comprehensive, modern learning environment designed to support both academic excellence and scientific exploration.
This project involved the construction of a new pedestrian bridge at UC San Diego’s Warren College, serving the Douglas Apartments community. The bridge was designed to provide safe, efficient pedestrian connectivity while enhancing accessibility between campus facilities. Careful coordination and site planning were essential to integrate the structure within an active residential environment, resulting in a durable and functional crossing that supports daily campus circulation.





This project consists of the construction of a new pool facility at Calexico High School, designed to support student athletics, physical education programs, and community use. The project enhances the campus by providing a dedicated space for aquatic training, recreation, and school events. The scope of work includes development of the pool and associated site improvements to ensure functionality, safety, and accessibility. The new facility is designed to meet the needs of students and staff while contributing to the overall campus environment. Upon completion, the Calexico High School pool will serve as a valuable resource for student development and community engagement.

The scope included preconstruction planning, cost estimating, scheduling, bid coordination, and full construction oversight, with a focus on maintaining budget, schedule, and quality objectives. Delivered using a Construction Management Multiple Prime (CM/MP) delivery method, the project leveraged Nielsen’s extensive experience in public school construction and strong local contractor relationships to ensure efficient execution and high-quality results. The construction management services were valued at approximately $333,333.
