Nielsen Construction California delivered the new construction of a 28,000-square-foot ancillary services building for El Centro Regional Medical Center, located on an active hospital campus. The two-story facility includes a range of critical healthcare support functions, including administrative offices, a pharmacy, central sterile processing, materials management, dietary services, a morgue, and medical records. The project also included installation of new permanent boiler systems, medical air and vacuum systems, and upgrades to the existing central utility plant to support ongoing hospital operations. Construction was carefully coordinated within an occupied medical environment, requiring continuous communication, detailed scheduling, and phased work to maintain uninterrupted patient care. Temporary utility systems were installed to allow seamless transitions during critical system upgrades, and all work was performed with a strong emphasis on safety and operational continuity. The result is a high-performance healthcare facility that enhances operational efficiency and supports the long-term needs of the hospital and surrounding community.
Nielsen Construction performed new construction for a $16 million, 43,063 SF two story medical office building addition in El Centro. The building was constructed with a concrete slab on grade foundation system, steel moment frame and a steel framed second floor and roof system. Included was an MRI room, several patient and nursing rooms and two elevators. The project included plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems, along with a new parking lot and landscaping.
This project included pre-construction services, structural, HVAC and Fire Protection Modifications and exterior site modifications. The interior modifications included a medical center, a physical therapy room, a chapel, an activities center, office spaces, consultation rooms, a lobby, a conference room, industrial washer and dryers, storage space and ADA restrooms and showers.
Design/Build services for an upgrade and remodel to the existing cafeteria servery including new flooring, paint, ceiling tiles, millwork, plumbing, electrical, light fixtures, and architectural features.
Design/Build services for a new exterior dining and rest area. Includes new fountain, pavers, concrete benches and walls, landscape and living wall, and exterior custom millwork.
