Delivered using a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) approach, the project included both preconstruction and construction services, with a strong emphasis on cost control, schedule management, and collaborative coordination with County stakeholders.



Nielsen Construction California successfully delivered the Ramona Community Resource Center, a new facility designed to provide comprehensive community services in a single, accessible location. Sustainability was a key component of the project, including energy-efficient systems and design strategies aligned with Zero Net Energy goals and LEED certification standards. Delivered through a collaborative design-build approach, the project was completed as a fully functional, high-quality community facility that enhances access to essential services and supports the long-term needs of the Ramona region.



Nielsen Construction California delivered the ground-up construction of the El Centro Criminal Courthouse, a 48,000-square-foot facility designed to support the region’s judicial operations on a 3.57-acre site. The project includes four multipurpose courtrooms, administrative offices, a Criminal Division, jury assembly spaces, and secure in-custody and building support areas. Designed to meet modern performance standards, the facility incorporates energy-efficient systems and sustainable features, achieving LEED Silver certification.


The North Inland Crisis Residential Facility is a design-build healthcare project developed for the County of San Diego to provide individuals in crisis with a safe, supportive, and home-like treatment environment. This new construction facility includes residential accommodations, counseling spaces, administrative offices, and shared amenities such as a kitchen and dining area—creating a balanced setting that promotes recovery, stability, and community. The design emphasizes a residential scale and welcoming atmosphere while integrating the specialized infrastructure required for behavioral health services. Constructed on a half-acre site, the project also includes site improvements, landscaping, and outdoor areas that enhance the overall environment. Thoughtful coordination during design and construction ensured the delivery of a functional, secure, and comfortable space tailored to serve both patients and staff.


Located adjacent to Highway 79 in San Diego County, the Santa Ysabel Nature Center is a design-build project that brings together immersive indoor and outdoor educational experiences. Developed in collaboration with Sillman Wright Architects for the County of San Diego, the facility is designed to showcase native habitats and provide meaningful opportunities for environmental learning. The project features a combination of exhibit spaces and nature trails that highlight local wildlife and ecosystems, creating an engaging destination for visitors of all ages. Thoughtful integration of the built environment with the surrounding landscape supports both accessibility and preservation, enhancing the overall visitor experience. Currently under construction at the time of development, the project reflects a strong partnership approach and a commitment to delivering a lasting community resource rooted in education and sustainability.



The Tijuana River Valley Regional Park Campground and Nature Education Center is a County of San Diego project that delivers a community-focused campground and educational facility. Built under a CMAR delivery method with a Guaranteed Maximum Price, the project includes preconstruction services, construction of on-site improvements, and supporting infrastructure. The development is designed to provide a destination that combines outdoor recreation with environmental education, offering campground amenities, interpretive spaces, and site features that enhance accessibility while integrating with the surrounding natural environment.
